| For me I haven’t been reading good with portraits, so i always learnt to draw the facial features separately first. Starting from the eyes, I practiced drawing a lot of eyes with different expressions. Next i moved on to the nose and lips. After you feel you’ve been practicing the facial features well enough you can roughly draw your face. Make sure to remember the proportions, the eyes should not be too big, the nose should allign with the tearducts of the eyes and so on. Practice is the key, always use a light pencil as it will be easier to erase errors. Shading is an other very important aspect for portraits, the right shadows and highlights can take your portraits to a completely different level.
